What is our Mission?
Answer:
Our mission is to create a complete collection of all past and present fire apparatus on Long Island. Everyday that goes by, old photos packed away in basements and attics are one step away from getting lost forever. With the modern digital world upon us, these photos are forgotten about, thrown away and destroyed with the history being lost forever. Our goal is to preserve these photos, shared stories, and videos for people who are passionate about firetrucks and the volunteer fire service in general

What Does the "Longislandfiretrucks.com" Watermark mean? "see the top of this page to see the logo or any other pictures"
Answer:
In order to share all the extra photos with you we sometimes have to omit the photos details. We place the "LONGISLANDFIRETRUCKS" watermark on the photos for accountability purposes because we just don't have the time to label every single extra photo we have with all the details. ALOT of the photos come out of the collection that we do own but certainly not all. We mark all the ones that do come out of "our collection" but sometimes we have to do this due to the crazy volume of photos. The details for most of the photos can be found in the "company categories." We leave all previous marked photos with details "as is" with their rightful owners. Thanks to all who have contributed. Enjoy.
Do you sell the pictures on your website?
Answer:
No. We do not sell pictures on our website, but we can connect you with some of our collectors and contributors who would be willing to sell them privately. Long Island Fire Trucks.com was put together for people who are passionate about fire trucks and the fire service in general. Our site is primarily for entertainment purposes.
Do your collectors/contributors sell their pictures?
Answer:
Yes, some of them do. If you are interested in any photos, you can contact us and we will do the best we can to connect you with the right person. Please be specific in what you are looking for. We have hundreds of thousands of photos.
Why are some of your pictures blurry or small?
Answer:
Our goal is to get the best photo of each fire truck that we can. In some instances, the blurry or small pictures may possibly be the only picture that exists of that specific truck, so it's the only picture displayed by default. If you have a picture of a truck that's better than one of ours, we would love to have it! Submit a photo at: [email protected]
Do you own all the pictures on your website?
Answer:
We own the site, but not "all" the photos. We have explicit permission to display the photos we do not own. There are several collections from specific collectors on our website that we do own.
Can I use these photos for personal use?
Answer:
Yes, but please respect the owners copyrights on the photos. Use them "as is".
All photos labeled with "longislandfiretrucks.com" you can use for sure as they are ours to share.
Please share your photos with us as well. That's the point!
Who has all these pictures?
Answer:
We hold about 50% of the "original" photos displayed on our site. The rest are scattered in private collections.
If i submit a photo, do you own it then?
Answer:

All photos are marked as accurately as possible with the photos details and owner.
I am a professional photographer. Can I sell my personal pictures on your site?
