Wow thank you so much for these exquisite pictures. Brings back memories. I was a cadet in 1978 at that time I was assigned to rescue company for over at headquarters station 1 on gardens avenue. Before I became a firefighter besides the same company for one year. I do remember the open cab going to fire school in bethpage I actually lived on lilac Lane which was a stone's throw from station 2, where Engine 2 and Engine 5 were located. My neighbor directly behind me Mr Arnold was Captain of Engine 5 at the time.when I was 9 or 10 yo he would let us wash the truck and ring the bell, what a thrill. Wonderful days wonderful sense of family values back then in levittown. Wish I could go back for a visit Leave a Reply. |
