Hello Long Island Fire Trucks Community,
Some news, We are very excited to have recently acquired a new privately owned fire truck photo collection of more old LI fire truck photos! The “old guys who make all of this happen” are vigorously working on these photos, spending countless hours of time cleaning them up, transferring them from slides and digitizing them. Over the past 2 years, the collection has grown rapidly to one of the largest digitalized fire truck photo collections in the northeast. Our FB page has grown as well, reaching over 1,702 followers as of today and we are continuously updating our official site at www.longislandfiretruckls.com to bring as much as we can as fast we can to public domain. We also continue to work with The Nassau County Fire Museum donating time and photos to them. We thank you all for your continued support and hope that you continue to share our page and mission to preserve Long Island Fire Truck history and lost photos of fire apparatus that we are so very passionate about. We’ve been getting numerous emails about not only the specifics about old fire truck apparatus, but questions about some of the people in photos, old buildings and other things of interest that were captured in them. While our main focus is the apparatus itself, we are more than happy to help in any way we can in regards to your ancestry interests and other unique things that some of the photos may contain in them. If you do contact us about this, please be very specific about which photos you are referring to that has peaked your interest and we will do our best to answer. Please remember that our site is for entertainment purposes only and for like-minded individuals who share a similar passion or interest. If you have photos laying around or know of someone who does, please contact us so we can preserve and share them before they are lost forever. Thank you and Enjoy! We've recieved so much feedback and photos over the past year it's been hard to keep up with it all. Thank you all for your contributions and enthusiasm as we continue to work on this massive project. . We've also got heavily involved with the Nassau County Fire Museum and have donated thousands of photos. There is a huge amount of updating needed for this site so we just ask that you are patient with us as we get to everything. As always, please let us know about any corrections, misprints, or any other discrepency you may see so we can make corrections. Thanks. LIFT
We've posted close to 500 photos of the 2015 Nassau County Parade which was hosted by the Rockville Centre Fire Department. While we have alot of vintage Long Island fire truck photos, we are coming up short on all the recent fire apparatus around the island. We are seeking any photographers or collectors who would be willing to share their work on our site to help build some of our collections. We're looking for main contributors for photos of recent apparatus to be added to all Nassau and Suffolk department collections.
