Some news,

We are very excited to have recently acquired a new privately owned fire truck photo collection of more old LI fire truck photos!  The “old guys who make all of this happen” are vigorously working on these photos, spending countless hours of time cleaning them up, transferring them from slides and digitizing them. Over the past 2 years, the collection has grown rapidly to one of the largest digitalized fire truck photo collections in the northeast.  Our FB page has grown as well, reaching over 1,702 followers as of today and we are continuously updating our official site at www.longislandfiretruckls.com to bring as much as we can as fast we can to public domain. We also continue to work with The Nassau County Fire Museum donating time and photos to them. We thank you all for your continued support and hope that you continue to share our page and mission to preserve Long Island Fire Truck history and lost photos of fire apparatus that we are so very passionate about.

We’ve been getting numerous emails about not only the specifics about old fire truck apparatus, but questions about some of the people in photos, old buildings and other things of interest that were captured in them. While our main focus is the apparatus itself, we are more than happy to help in any way we can in regards to your ancestry interests and other unique things that some of the photos may contain in them. If you do contact us about this, please be very specific about which photos you are referring to that has peaked your interest and we will do our best to answer.

Thank you all for your contributions and enthusiasm as we continue to work on this massive project. . We've also got heavily involved with the Nassau County Fire Museum and have donated thousands of photos.  There is a huge amount of updating needed for this site so we just ask that you are patient with us as we get to everything.
